Services for Harley S. James, 81, of 504 E. South Blvd., were conducted this morning in Powers Funeral Home. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Gene Warman and Clyde Peck officiated. Mr. James died Saturday evening in Culver Hospital. He had been in construction work until 1941 when he joined R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. He was employed there until 1960. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Modern Woodman Lodge. Mr. James attended Parkersburg Common School and Raccoon High School. Born Feb. 6, 1895, at Parkersburg, he was a son of Benton E. and Laura Nicholos James. He was first married to Elva Reynolds who died in 1944. He then was married to Mary A. Perdue in 1949. She survives. Also surviving are three stepsons, Henry Perdue of Indianapolis, Frank Perdue of Brownsburg and Fred Perdue of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Clova James of Covington; nine step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers are deceased.--waw
